Osaka's motto is kuidaore – 'eat until you drop'. This small-group evening walk starts in Shinsekai, a retro neighbourhood under the Tsutenkaku tower famous for kushikatsu, deep-fried skewers dipped once (and only once) in sauce.

Then head to Dotonbori, with its giant moving crab and the Glico running man sign, for takoyaki octopus balls, okonomiyaki pancakes and other street snacks, with stories about the city along the way.
