Indian passport holders need a Standard Visitor visa to visit the UK for tourism, to see family or friends, for business meetings and other permitted activities. You can usually stay for up to 6 months.
The application is made online, then you attend an appointment at a UK visa application centre in India to give your fingerprints and photo and hand in your documents. You get your passport back the same day. The UK government usually decides within 3 weeks of the appointment.
Successful applicants get an eVisa – a digital record of the visa, linked to your passport and viewed in a UKVI account – instead of a sticker.
The price includes the UK visa fee of £135. Long-term visitor visas (2, 5 or 10 years) are also available for frequent travellers – ask us.
