The Afrosiyob train covers the 300 km to Samarkand in about two hours. Your guide meets you for the Registan – three tiled madrasas facing each other across a square – and the tomb of Timur at Gur-e-Amir.

Continue to the giant Bibi-Khanym Mosque, the Siab Bazaar and the avenue of blue-tiled tombs at Shah-i-Zinda before the evening train back.

  3. Carry your passport. Indian passport holders need an Uzbekistan e-visa – Plantenium can arrange it, see the Visa page.
  4. Prices shown are adult rates. Children's rates vary by tour – ask us before booking for a child.
  5. Hotel pickup, where included, covers hotels in the city centre. Pickup times are confirmed the day before.
  6. Bookings are valid only for the date on your voucher. To change the date, contact Plantenium before the day – changes depend on availability.
  7. Mountain roads, boats and outdoor activities can be affected by weather. If the operator cancels, you get a full refund or a new date.
