In the late 18th century, Paris's cemeteries were emptied into old limestone quarries under the city. The ossuary's walls of skulls and bones, arranged in patterns with poetic inscriptions, make one of the world's most unusual sights.

  5. Many French national museums and monuments are free for under-18s – where a child ticket isn't listed, children still need to queue with the adult and show ID.
  6. Bookings are valid only for the date and time on your voucher. To change, contact Plantenium before the day – changes depend on availability.
