Hoi An was a busy trading port from the 15th to 19th centuries, and its old town of yellow merchant houses, Chinese assembly halls and the Japanese Covered Bridge is beautifully preserved. Your guide leads you through the lanes as the silk lanterns light up at dusk.

Then board a small wooden boat on the Thu Bon River for a gentle ride among hundreds of glowing lanterns, and set your own candle lantern afloat with a wish – a Hoi An tradition.
