Hakone is the mountain resort where Tokyo goes to relax. The tour visits Hakone Shrine and its red torii gate standing in Lake Ashi, then crosses the lake on one of the famous pirate-ship sightseeing cruises.

From the lake, ride the Hakone Ropeway over Owakudani, a volcanic valley of sulphur vents, and try the black eggs boiled in the hot springs – said to add seven years to your life. On clear days Mount Fuji rises behind the lake.

  • The ropeway closes when volcanic gas levels or wind are high; the tour then uses a bus replacement.
  • Wear layers – Hakone is cooler than Tokyo.

  1. Prices are per ticket in Indian Rupees (INR) and include taxes. You pay the total shown at checkout – there are no hidden booking fees.
  2. Your booking is confirmed once payment succeeds. Your e-ticket or voucher is emailed to you, usually within 24 hours of booking.
  3. Carry your passport; attractions and tour operators may check the lead traveller's ID against the booking.
  4. Child, junior and senior prices follow the attraction's own age rules, checked at entry. If a ticket type doesn't match, the difference may be charged there.
  5. Bookings are valid only for the date on your voucher. Timed-entry attractions also have a set entry time, which we confirm with your voucher. To change the date, contact Plantenium before the day – changes depend on availability.
  6. Attractions, boats, ropeways and tours in Japan can close or change for typhoons, heavy snow or volcanic alerts. If the operator cancels, you get a full refund or a new date.
