The Glacier Express links Zermatt and St. Moritz in about eight hours, crossing the Alps by the Rhine Gorge – Switzerland's 'Grand Canyon' – and the Oberalp Pass, with glacier views through panoramic windows.

Lunch is served at your seat. Excellence Class adds a guaranteed window seat, a seven-course meal with wine pairing, a bar and a concierge – one of the great luxury rail journeys.

Know Before You Go

  • With a Swiss Travel Pass you only need the seat reservation – ask us for that price.
  • Seats sell out in summer; book early.

Cancellation policy: Free cancellation up to 7 days before travel (full refund). Within 7 days, seat reservations are non-refundable; the ticket part is refunded minus the railway's fees if cancelled before travel.

  1. Prices are per ticket in Indian Rupees (INR) and include taxes. You pay the total shown at checkout – there are no hidden booking fees.
  2. Your booking is confirmed once payment succeeds. Your e-ticket or voucher is shared on email and WhatsApp within 24 hours of booking.
  3. Carry your passport and a valid Schengen visa. Plantenium can help with your Swiss visa – see the Visa page.
  4. Swiss mountain railways and cable cars: children under 6 travel free with an adult, children 6-15 pay the child fare. Swiss Travel Pass and Half Fare Card holders should tell us – many excursions are cheaper with them.
  5. Bookings are valid only for the date on your voucher. To change the date, contact Plantenium before the day – changes depend on availability.
  6. Mountain trips, flights and boats can close for storms, strong wind or avalanche risk. If the operator cancels, you get a full refund or a new date. Summit views depend on the weather on the day.
