The Cu Chi Tunnels, about 70 km north-west of Ho Chi Minh City, were dug by hand and used as hiding places, supply routes, hospitals and living quarters. At the Ben Dinh site, your guide shows you camouflaged trapdoors, booby traps, ventilation shafts and underground kitchens.

You can crawl through a short widened stretch of tunnel to experience the cramped conditions, and taste cassava, the staple food of the time. There's also an optional shooting range (paid on site).
