Champagne is 90 minutes from Paris. Visit Reims Cathedral, where French kings were crowned, then go deep into the chalk cellars of a famous champagne house to learn how the bubbles are made, with a tasting.

After lunch in the vineyards, stroll Épernay's Avenue de Champagne and taste again at a small family-run grower. The champagne slopes, houses and cellars are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  4. Timed tickets: arrive 15 minutes before your time slot. Late arrivals may be refused and are not refunded.
  5. Many French national museums and monuments are free for under-18s – where a child ticket isn't listed, children still need to queue with the adult and show ID.
  6. Bookings are valid only for the date and time on your voucher. To change, contact Plantenium before the day – changes depend on availability.
